Offering a Mass for a special Intention is a long standing tradition in the Catholic Church. It is usually considered that special graces are obtained for whom the Mass is said. Masses are offered for many reasons, for the souls in purgatory, in remembrance for someone who is deceased, or in honor of a birthday. If you would like to have a Mass said for someone, contact the Parish Office. The office staff will inform you of available dates and times.
The stipend or offering given, signifies the sacrificial nature of giving of something of yourself to associate more intimately with Christ who offers himself in the Eucharist. The traditional offering to have a mass said is $5.00. To have a Mass offered, contact the parish office, mail the request to the church, or place it in the collection basket at mass. Mass cards and envelopes are available in the church in the vestibule and campanile. The form is also available below.
St. Peter Catholic Church is available for weddings subject to the rules as presented in the Marriage Guidelines and Policies document. Refer to the Marriage page for more information.
The arrangement of funeral services are made through the parish office or pastor. To notify St. Peter of a death in your family, please contact the parish office or pastor.
As Christians, we do not grieve like others. We have hope and console one another. We want to become an instrument of Christ’s comfort to those who mourn. As your parish, we see our role to you in these difficult time in these words - "...the Lord has anointed me to bind up the brokenhearted, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve...to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair...”. (Isaiah 61:1-3)
A further outreach to those who mourn is our annual All Souls’ Mass on November 2. Invitations are sent to families who lost a loved one in the last year, asking them to attend the Mass and participate in this liturgy.
It is also possible to preplan a funeral service with the Church office. This would include your choice of presider, readings, music, and participation of family members. Your completed pre-planning form is kept on file in the office. Download the form from this page or call the church office.
